Subject Priority Order: What to Study First
The biggest mistake students make isn't studying less — it's studying in the wrong order. Imagine spending your first 3 weeks on Economy and Computer, only to realize that History and Polity carry 3x more marks. That's wasted time you can't get back. The order in which you study subjects can literally make or break your score.
After analyzing 10+ years of papers across RRB NTPC, SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, and Police exams, here's the optimal subject priority order. This isn't random — it's based on marks weightage, ease of scoring, and how quickly you can prepare each subject.
#1 Science — The Quick Win
Start with Science. Why? Because it's the most factual subject with the highest return on time invested. Biology topics like vitamins, diseases, human body systems — these are pure facts. Memorize them once, revise twice, and you'll answer correctly every time. Physics has standard questions on units, laws, and instruments. Chemistry asks about elements, pH values, and everyday reactions. In 5-7 days of focused study, you can master enough Science to score 4-5 out of 5 questions.
Open the app's Science section and go through Biology first, then Physics, then Chemistry. You'll be surprised how quickly you can finish it.
#2 Polity — High Repeat Rate Gold Mine
Polity is the most predictable subject in GK. The same Articles, the same amendments, the same constitutional bodies get asked again and again. Article 14 (Equality), Article 19 (Freedom), Article 21 (Right to Life), Article 32 (Constitutional Remedies) — these appear in almost every exam. Once you know the key 50 Articles and 15 major amendments, you've covered 80% of Polity questions.
Polity also has the highest repeat rate of any subject — in some years, 60%+ Polity questions are directly from previous year papers. The app's Polity section covers all frequently asked topics. Practice them thoroughly — this subject alone can give you 4-5 guaranteed marks.
#3 History and #4 Geography — The Core Pillars
History is #3 because it needs more time than Science and Polity. It's chronological — you need to build a timeline in your head. Start with Modern India (freedom struggle) because it carries the most marks, then Ancient India (civilizations, empires), then Medieval India (Sultanate, Mughals). The trick with History is creating a mental timeline: events in order, not just isolated facts.
Geography is #4 — it's visual and map-based. Rivers flowing from which mountain to which sea, states and their capitals, national parks and their locations. The best way to study Geography is with maps. Draw rough maps, mark rivers, mark states. Visual memory sticks longer than text memory. For Geography, focus on Indian Geography first (70% questions), then World Geography.
#5 Economy, #6 Computer, #7 Miscellaneous
Economy carries 2-3 questions but can be tricky. Focus on: RBI functions, types of banks, GDP/GNP concepts, inflation types, budget basics, tax structure (GST), and important government schemes. Don't go deep into economic theories — exam questions are practical, not theoretical.
Computer is low weightage (1-2 questions) but also very easy. In just 2-3 hours, you can cover: computer generations, input/output devices, memory types, MS Office basics, internet terminology, and common full forms. This is pure free marks — don't skip it. Miscellaneous includes: books and authors, sports, awards, first in India, national symbols, important days. This is where your daily current affairs habit pays off.
How to Allocate Your Time
If you have 30 days, here's the split: Science (4 days), Polity (5 days), History (5 days), Geography (4 days), Economy (3 days), Computer (1 day), Current Affairs (ongoing daily), Revision + Mocks (8 days). If you have less time, cut from the bottom of the list, never from the top. Even with just 15 days, cover Science + Polity + History first — they give the maximum marks.
Follow this priority order and use the app to practice each subject as you complete it. The topic-wise sets match this exact sequence. Don't overthink the order — just start with Science today, and keep moving forward. Every subject you complete is one step closer to your selection. The right order + daily consistency = guaranteed results.
