Gujarat

Navnirman Andolan (Re-invention or Re-construction movement) was a socio-political movement in 1974 in Gujarat by students and middle-class people against economic crisis and corruption in public life.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) set up the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (SRFDCL), a special purpose vehicle, in May 1997 funded by the Government of India with a seed capital of Rs. 1 crore for the riverfront development.

One noble invited the Mughal emperor Akbar to intervene in 1572 which resulted in the conquest of Gujarat by 1573 and Gujarat becoming the province of the Mughal Empire.

Buland Darwaza, or the “Door of victory”, was built in 1575 AD by Mughal emperor Akbar to commemorate his victory over Gujarat.

In 1520 AD, Rana Sanga led a coalition of Rajput armies to invade Gujarat. He reinstated Raimal Rathore as the Rao of Idar and defeated the Gujarat forces under the command of Nizam Khan. Rana Sanga drove the army of Muzaffar II deep into Gujarat and chased them up to Ahmedabad.

Kirti Mandir is the memorial temple built in memory of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi located in city of Porbandar, Gujarat, India. The ancestral house of Gandhi family, where Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2^nd October 1869 is just adjacent to the Kirti Mandir.

Kutch Desert Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Bhuj, Kutch, Gujarat.

Lothal was one of the southernmost sites of the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation, located in the Bhal region of the modern state of Gujarat. Construction of the city is believed to have begun around 2200 BCE.

In Gujarat Manganese deposits is found in Panchmahal, Vadodara and Dahod District at Shivrajpur, Bamankuva, Bapotiya , Pani and Salapada villages respectively.
