📋Quick Overview
Gujarat is one of India's richest states in terms of heritage and religious architecture. It has THREE UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Rani ki Vav, Champaner-Pavagadh, and Dholavira) and hosts some of Hinduism and Jainism's most sacred sites. Somnath — the first of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines — was rebuilt after being destroyed multiple times. Dwarka, one of the four Dhams and seven Sapta Puris, has an ancient submerged city. The Modhera Sun Temple (1026 CE) and Girnar's multi-faith complex complete a rich heritage tapestry.
Gujarat has 3 UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Rani ki Vav (2014), Champaner-Pavagadh (2004), Dholavira (2021)
Somnath Temple = 1st Jyotirlinga; destroyed 17 times; last rebuilt after 1947 under Sardar Patel's initiative
