📋Quick Overview

Jharkhand is rightfully called the 'Mineral Capital of India' and the 'Ruhr of India' (after Germany's industrial heartland). Sitting on the Chota Nagpur Plateau, the state holds the largest coal reserves in India (Jharia coalfield), the largest uranium deposits (Jaduguda), the largest copper reserves (Singhbhum), significant iron ore, mica, bauxite, and manganese. The steel city of Jamshedpur, founded by Jamshedji Tata in 1907, was the first steel plant in Asia. Dhanbad is called the 'Coal Capital of India'.
