Maharashtra has a bicameral legislature — Vidhan Sabha (288 seats, lower house) and Vidhan Parishad (78 seats, upper house). It is India's 2nd most populated state and sends the 2nd highest MPs to Lok Sabha (48 seats). The current CM (as of December 2024) is Devendra Fadnavis (BJP).
