  • Bhimbetka: Located in foothills of Vindhya range; 750+ rock shelters; paintings show hunting, dancing, animals using red ochre and white pigment
  • Sanchi: Great Stupa built by Ashoka (3rd c. BCE); 4 toranas (gateways) added later by Satavahanas; contains relics of Buddha
