Police Districts
Police GK · पुलिस जिले
📋Quick Overview
The district is the key operational unit of state police, headed by SP (Superintendent of Police) or SSP (Senior Superintendent of Police) in major cities. Below the district level, there are Circles (headed by DSP), Police Stations (headed by SHO/Inspector), and Outposts (Chatki). Understanding this administrative structure is vital for UP Police, Bihar Police, and Delhi Police exams.
⭐
SP vs SSP: Regular/smaller districts = SP (Superintendent of Police); Major cities/large districts = SSP (Senior Superintendent of Police). Both report to DIG → IG → ADGP → DGP.
