Quo Warranto = ANY person can file (not just aggrieved) — it is for PUBLIC interest
Habeas Corpus can also be filed by anyone on behalf of detained person (not just the victim)
Art 32 can be suspended during National Emergency (but NOT Art 226)
5 Writs: Habeas Corpus, Mandamus, Prohibition, Certiorari, Quo Warranto
SC issues writs under Art 32 (only FR), HC under Art 226 (FR + legal rights)
Habeas Corpus = produce the body = against illegal detention
Mandamus = we command = order to public authority to do duty
Prohibition = stop lower court BEFORE judgment
Certiorari = quash lower court order AFTER judgment
Quo Warranto = challenge illegal holder of public office
Habeas Corpus = ONLY writ against private persons
Mandamus CANNOT be issued against President or Governor
Art 226 (HC) is WIDER than Art 32 (SC)
Art 32 can be suspended in Emergency, Art 226 CANNOT
