The Olympic Games are the world's largest sporting event. The ancient Olympics were held in Olympia, Greece from 776 BCE. The modern Olympics were revived by Baron Pierre de Coubertin in 1896 at Athens. The Olympic motto is 'Citius, Altius, Fortius — Communiter' (Faster, Higher, Stronger — Together). The Olympic flag has five interlocking rings representing five continents.
